As a scientist, I work in a field where I calculate, compute, and calibrate radiation treatments for cancer therapy. I solve problems all day long, or at least try. All quantitative and analytical, and very black and white.

This duality of scientific nature and artistic expression can be seen in the thematic layers of blacks, whites, and grays. While creating visuals, I sometimes require much time to analyze and comprehend what I see. My occupation in radiation therapy involves working with all kinds of light, but in the high energy radiation part of the spectrum, using it to design pathways to best place radiation to destroy cancer cells. My photography uses light to create what I feel is beautiful and full of wonder. My artistic pursuits in black-and-white landscape photography reveal your ability to see and capture the world in a different light. Using light to create visually intriguing and thought-provoking images that require careful analysis reflects a keen eye for composition.

I have exhibited in the Central Florida area, Chicago, and Colorado and in

various online magazines. My work hangs in the collection of private collections and businesses.

Clyde Butcher has been a strong influence on my black-and-white landscape photography and also in the passion he has for environmental causes, using his art to advance those incentives. Other photographers, such as Sara Marino and Nigel Danson, have helped teach me to find beauty and composition all around me.
